Music

A place to find your song

We aim to inspire our students to develop a lifelong love of music and to develop their abilities as musicians. Our music curriculum at The Charter School East Dulwich is designed to increase pupils’ self-confidence and creativity, with a view to improving their overall sense of achievement and wellbeing.

All students will receive an hour of music a week throughout Key Stage 3. In addition, we have a team of peripatetic musicians who deliver 30-minute instrumental lessons either individually or in pairs.  Students can choose to learn drums, keyboards, guitar, vocals, brass and woodwind instruments. The range of instruments on offer continues to grow.

Students benefit from a variety of musical extracurricular activities including choir, keyboard club, strings, song-writing club and steel pans, with the opportunity for students to perform.Other ensembles and orchestras are planned as well as collaborations with the orchestra at The Charter School North Dulwich.
